According to estimates by the European Commission, between 52,000 and 184,000 tonnes of plastic pellets were lost in the environment across Europe in 2019. In the United Kingdom, the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT estimates a loss of 15,000 tonnes - a situation that is unacceptable.
We take great care to ensure that no PVC escapes. That is why we are OCS certified and have implemented extensive measures that help even more effectively to prevent PVC pellets from being released into the environment. Our other worldwide sites are already operating according to the OCS scheme.
